Mini-haul on a Tuesday

Today's good mood is brought to you by my day off! :) I felt giddy today knowing that no one called for me to report for work. Well, I made sure I turned my phone off while I was sleeping so no one will wake me up and ask me to cover for someone. I'm not sure if the same thing will happen tomorrow, so I made sure I had the time to go to the nearest Ross Dress for Less and check some items. Before I went there, I also went to the store next to Ross which is Shoeland and to my surprise, I found the shoes that are sold on amiclubwear! Well, not all of the shoes sold online were there but almost all of the shoes sold there really looked familiar to me 'coz I check that site everyday. At least I saw how the shoes look like in person and not just online and be surprised when I get to order one. I didn't buy anything at that place today 'coz I am very picky when it comes to shoes. My mom even gives up on me when it comes to shoe shopping 'coz it takes me a long time to finally decide on what I want. I don't really go for expensive shoes, but I go for something that will look nice in any outfit. I will definitely go back there soon.

So anyway, here are my haul at Ross today. Not as awesome as the haul of other people who have the moolah to spend, but I am happy to get a couple of things that I liked today. I didn't buy any clothes 'coz I want to get some after payday. It makes me feel kinda sad if I get out of a store with only one purchase when it comes to clothes, so it has to wait.

I wanted a bag 'coz my mom only allowed me to bring 3 (insert VERY sad face here) of my bags and the rest were left in the Philippines. That's like 6 years of my collection wiped out from my memory. At least my mom gets to enjoy them. So I'm building my collection again - one or two bags at a time.

It's not the top of the line Nine West bag, but I'm happy to purchase this black back which I will be using at work 'coz it's spacious and simple. Then I got this little brown tote, since I sometimes want to bring just a couple of stuff when going to the mall and other places. I always wanted a small bag for my wallet, phone, and make up. It took me almost an hour just to decide on these two purchases. :)

Then I found this sturdy earrings holder which I just had to purchase 'coz my earrings needed a place to look pretty. I had the little holder back in the Philippines but it always tips over when I hang my earrings on the hooks, so I figured it had to go. I was looking for a sturdy holder online but  every single piece was more than $10. Today I found one for $6.99 and I've never regret the fact that I got it. I saw one for $5.99 with a black dress, but I went around and checked the bags and the moment I went back to purchase it, someone already got it. It was so pretty, but I was stupid enough to not hold on to it.

Out with the old in with the new!

I also got a holder for our paper towel, but I'm too lazy to take a picture of it, so I will skip that for now.

I got 4 things today and I paid less than $50! Next project- SHOESSSSSS!!!!

Don't you just love Ross? The only thing I don't like is that their items are always hit or miss.

Medical Examination at SLMCEC

November 9-10, 2009 This will be a blow by blow account of my medical exam that took place last week. If you want to be first in line, you can be there as early as 3am, but I went there at 5am because I wanted to make sure that I am safe while taking the exam and I don't want to wait in line for 2-3 hours. It was a good move, since they were already accepting applicants at 5am and I got in around 5:20am and I was the 54th applicant of the day. Make sure to have the following ready: 1. Passport 2. 4 2x2 visa pictures (they will only take 3 though, but I brought 4 since that's their requirement) 3. Original and photocopy of approval letter from the embassy 4. Print out of your interview schedule 5. Black ballpoint pen 6. Payment (213.35 - exchange rate is at 48) Flow chart: 1. At 5:30 I already got in and filled out the Patient Data Sheet form. Memorize your fiance's address and phone number or at least have a copy of it. 2. The guard called us up for the digital picture taki...

I'm not so evil after all

" I never got the chance to be your trainee, but I heard a lot of good things about you Ms. Dee." Reading this post from someone I barely even know made my heart flutter. I know that I have been totally brutal with my trainees when I was still working as a trainer back home 'coz I want them to be excellent in their field. I know I was hated by many 'coz I don't know how to kiss people's asses. I even almost got in trouble with our big boss when I was only passing a few people during interviews. A lot of people were mad at me 'coz of my unbelievable standards. A lot of times it did affect me and all I wanted was to please everyone, but I was also pushed by my one of my supervisors not to lower my standards. I got reprimanded for passing a few people during interviews by our big boss, and I got reprimanded by my direct supervisor for passing a lot of trainees during my class. I was totally confused when I was starting up in my new field. But time, experience...

New face same person

I changed the look of my blog today 'coz as I felt like I had to change the picture that I placed on my blog's header, since another year has been added to my exciting journey as a perpetually tanned Filipina. I had to admit though that I was way healthier and younger 2 years ago. I kept the picture on one of my folders to remind me that for once in my life I did fit into those tiny shorts and body hugging tops. My head did hurt from picking my new template. I checked out a lot of websites and I did like a lot of templates, but it took me awhile to pick the template which will suit the theme of my random rants. I picked this new look because it reminded me of my childhood days wherein I use any piece of paper to express how I feel. In the end, I had to burn those pieces of paper/compilations 'coz my mom always finds a way to read them and we usually end up in a very 'interesting' conversation. My mom is one detective I dare not cross and she will usually scavenge in...
