To My Master

I am at a loss for words I am humbled I have a lot of questions in my mind, but I know I am in no position to ask I know that You are too wise to be mistaken Too good to be unkind Even if this path is too difficult to take and sometimes leave me hopeless, I know that You have plans for me - plans to make me great and not to forsake me I leave everything in Your hands Thank you for leaving me broken, for me to know how good it feels to be whole again Thank you for the challenge, for it taught me to be strong Thank you for the making me realize that if I depend on myself, I am nothing Thank you for putting me in my place and for letting me know that despite my stubbornness and sinful nature, You still love me. This phase shall soon pass I put my faith in YOU In my life you will forever be GLORIFIED.
(HongKong, Feb 2009) I love watching the fireworks. Seeing the artwork against the dark skies makes me appreciate the beauty that is around us. It brings out the child in me and it sometimes makes me reminisce the great relationship I had with my family when I was a kid. I was rebellious, but not the kind of kid who would almost kill her parents. I just love breaking rules and I always had something to say - and it is usually nasty. That was how I was as a kid. But even with such an attitude, I had a great relationship with my friends and my family. Things were great. But it's just lately that I came to realize that my own family is put to test. Those whom I expected to back me up are the ones who are being indifferent. I moved to the States and I have felt that it was my friends, my mom, my brother, my grandparents, and some of my aunts and uncles who were supportive of my decision. But not all of my family were happy about it and I can just feel it. I don't remember doing any...

Everything but the...

I thought that I have already tasted 2 great flavors of Ben and Jerry's ice cream, but I was wrong. Hubs bought me a pint last night, since I managed to use my charm to make him buy me one and he got me a new flavor. I admire my husband for knowing what flavor I like and this one really got me hooked! I love almonds, peanut butter cups, chocolate, vanilla and all that jazz. So this flavor? Heaven!!!! I'm at a loss for words because this flavor is just beyond delicious and I am not exaggerating. :)

4th of July (2010)

Little George Washington One of the cupcakes from Publix We watched the fireworks at Baldwin Park. We went to watch it on the 3rd of July to avoid traffic jams on the 4th. Baldwin Park is a couple of minutes away from our place. It's a quaint little town in the bustling city of Orlando. Great place for families!

My short beach getaway

My Aunt and her family who came over to visit Florida picked me up on the 25th of June so we can spend the weekend at my Aunt's place 2 hours away from Orlando. Little did I know that their place is going to be paradise. We got there at 7pm and the first thing we looked for was the beach. We were all happy when we knew that they live less than 5 minutes away from North Redington beach. It was the first time that I went to the beach without getting into a car and getting all your beach stuff packed. We just had to cross the street and voila! Welcome to North Redington beach! They don't allow open bottle containers at the beach, so the sand is clean with no fear of getting your feet cut with broken glass while walking along the shore. I like the sand at Redington 'coz it's not the dark kind and the water is just the right temperature for swimming. The waves are not so big too. It just gets a little bigger in the afternoon, but if you're a surfer, this beach is not for...

My Tuesday Adventure

I started my day at 9:30am. Hubby drove me off to the Social Security office to get my name changed. I had to wait 15 minutes under the scorching heat of the sun with the rest of 10 or more people because they are following the fire hazard rules and only a certain number of people are allowed at a time. I went there with everything prepared, so when we were allowed to go inside, a man handed me my number to get my name changed. To my horror, the number of the screen is 204 and I have 257 in my hand. I already psyched myself that it's going to be a long wait. I didn't bring a book, so what I did was observe people. There were a lot of Hispanics and Blacks. There were also Asians like me, but they were all Chinese. I didn't see any Filipino inside that office today - well at least where I was sitting. The guard was very strict with cellphones, but there are still some people who won't listen and they got reprimanded. The guard warned a man that if he uses his phone again,...

Ben and Jerry's Ice cream in Phish food and Creme Brulee

So I went on an ice cream eating spree since Friday. Hubby gave me my first pint of Ben and Jerry's since I wanted ice cream to celebrate the weekend. He knows that I like chocolates, so he got me the Phish food flavor. No, it never tasted like fish. It is a chocolate flavored ice cream with melted marshmallows, caramel swirls, and that crunchy fudge fish. I like the combination of the crunchiness of the fudge fish and the smoothness of the chocolate in every bite. 9 out of 10 stars for this flavor. Then today, I got myself the creme brulee flavor because my friend made me curious about how it tastes. You can check her review here: http://notjustafoodblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/product-review-ben-jerrys-creme-brulee.html What she said is actually true and I love the fact that the sweetness is not so overwhelming with that right crunch in every bite. I had to put down my spoon to stop myself from finishing the whole pint. This is also 9/10. I'm not really sure which one is my f...
